Men’s Ice Hockey Announces Home Schedule for 100th Season

The Boston University men’s ice hockey team has announced its home schedule for its upcoming 100th season and will be returning to play at Agganis Arena after having its games held at Walter Brown Arena this past year.

BU will host 16 regular-season games at Agganis Arena in 2021-22, including four non-conference contests and seven match-ups against teams that have qualified for the NCAA Tournament since 2019. Throughout the season, the program will honor its storied history with special nights and appearances by some of the all-time greats.

For the first time in 11 years, the Terriers will have two home games against archrival Boston College as the Eagles will make the trip down Comm. Ave. on Dec. 10 and Feb. 26.

For non-conference action, both Sacred Heart (Oct. 15-16) and Arizona State (Jan. 7-8) will visit for a pair of contests.

The Terriers are also scheduled to host a pair of exhibition contests – one on the weekend of Oct. 2-3 against an opponent to be named later and another on Dec. 12 against the U.S. Under-18 Team.

BU will welcome UConn for its home opener on Saturday, Oct. 9. That contest will begin a three-game homestand for the Terriers. BU will conclude October with home games against Merrimack (Oct. 23) and UMass Lowell (Oct. 29).

The Terriers will welcome reigning national champion UMass to Agganis on Nov. 12, with Northeastern making the crosstown journey a week later on Nov. 19. New Hampshire will visit Boston on Dec. 3 before the Battle of Comm. Ave. takes center stage on Dec. 10 as the Terriers close out the first half against the Eagles.

BU will open the 2022 home slate with the Arizona State weekend. The Terriers will then host a two-game series with Vermont on Jan. 21 and 22 before welcoming Providence to Agganis on Jan. 30.

Following a date with Maine on Feb. 4, BU and BC will once again meet at Agganis in the Terriers’ home finale.

The full 2021-22 schedule will be announced in the coming weeks.
