Bob Hurley foundation receives $60K grant to run Hudson summer basketball program

Among the many legendary basketball icons to come out of Jersey City and Hudson County, Hall of Fame coach Bob Hurley stands alone in terms of success and influence. And thanks to a grant from the county board of commissioners, that influence will continue to shape the basketball stars of tomorrow.

The Hudson County Board of Commissioners approved the $60,000 grant for the Hurley Family Foundation to organize and run a summer basketball program in both Bayonne’s Stephen R. Gregg Park and Jersey City’s Lincoln Park, the board announced in a press release.

The eight-week program will begin this month and run until August. The program will focus on developing and sustaining positive relationships, conflict resolution skills, teamwork and promoting healthy living.
