COVID-19 resurgence fears shorten 241 baseball season

The 241 Baseball League has made a decision to shorten its season from the last regular season game ending on Sept. 28 to a double elimination tournament starting on Sept. 6.

“We feel that the rise in COVID-19 numbers and the fact that the kids are going back to school, it would be best for us to play it safe and allow the kids time to readjust to school, homework and school sports.

“We don’t want to be the cause of an outbreak and jeopardize the kids being back in school full-time,” he said.

“I hope everyone supports our decision. We do this league for the kids and we feel we are putting the kids first with this decision,” said Fitchett.
